A limited number of entry-only tickets will be available to purchase on the door on Friday evening.* \n  \nThe Red Hot Jazz Club are excited to welcome The Duncan Anslem Quintet to Glastonbury\, playing all the best and well-known tunes by the legendary Charles Mingus. \n  \nCharles Mingus Jr. was an American jazz upright bassist\, pianist\, composer\, bandleader\, and author. A major proponent of collective improvisation\, he is considered to be one of the greatest jazz musicians and composers in history. \nWith a career spanning three decades\, he collaborated with other jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong\, Duke Ellington\, Charlie Parker\, Dizzy Gillespie\, and Herbie Hancock. \nHis compositions retain the hot and soulful feel of hard bop\, drawing heavily from black gospel music and blues\, while sometimes containing elements of free jazz and classical music. He once cited Duke Ellington and the church as his main influences. \n  \nDuncan Anselm on Alto-sax is a very familiar face in the West and has performed many times in various guises. Joining him tonight\, we are thrilled to have Sam Crockatt\, a well-known name on the Bristol and London Jazz Scene playing Tenor-sax.
