DESCRIPTION:This group of ten\, who exhibit regularly across the Bath and Bristol area\, are showing work which has been shown in previous venues. The members specialise in a range of textile techniques\, including hand and machine stitching\, batik\, weaving and feltmaking.   Anyone who is familiar with contemporary textiles will be impressed by the different styles and treatments\, those who are unfamiliar will be amazed by the colour and textures produced by fabric and thread. \nThe exhibition is open every day until 20th November\, Monday to Saturday 9.30 to 5.30 and on Sunday 10 to 4.30. DESCRIPTION:Join us on the 22nd of September for a Latino night! \nGlasto Latino with K’Chevere and DJ support with DJ Felix El Gato – Live Afro Cuban Latin music. \nK’Chevere are a UK-based 9-piece latin band with a repertoire strongly influenced by the music and rhythms of Cuba. Artists including ‘Tito Puente’\, ‘Patato Valdés’\, ‘Compay Segundo’ and ‘Eddie Palmieri’\, have influenced their mix of Cuban classics with their own original compositions\, that combine Afro-Cuban dance rhythms such as Son\, Danzón and Cha-Cha-Cha with a blend of Latin Jazz and Salsa. Donations welcome. \n  \nEach year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21st September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace\, both within and among all nations and peoples.  The theme for 2017 is “Together for Peace: Respect\, Safety and Dignity for All.” \nThis year\, the International Day of Peace will focus on engaging and mobilizing people throughout the world to show support for refugees and migrants.  United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres – “Together\, let us stand up against bigotry and for human rights. Together\, let us build bridges. Together\, let us transform fear into hope.” \n  \nThe Hiroshima Peace Flame was lit from the atomic fires which killed approximately 140\,000 people on August 6th 1945 and has been kept alight ever since as a symbol of remembrance\, forgiveness and transformation. It has been burning in Glastonbury since 2004 and in the Red Brick Building since it opened.

DESCRIPTION:Centre Stage Glastonbury aims to create a fun and creative environment for children and young people to learn theatre skills. \nClasses are action packed and lessons are planned around the groups ideas\, so that they feel fully involved in the classes helping to boost their confidence and self esteem. \nExams can be taken with Trinity College London and can give pupils a fantastic sense of achievement. \nWho we are…. \nBeth Hancock: BA(Hons) Performing Arts; MA Popular Performances \nBeth grew up in Wells and has lived in the area for most of her life and\, when she was younger\, took part in numerous shows\, pantomimes throughout the area. Beth studied for both her degrees at The University of Winchester specialising in physical theatre. For a number of years Beth has been teaching for local groups and in local primary schools in the Wells and Glastonbury area. \nHolly Flower: BA(hons) Drama \nHolly has taken an interest in drama throughout her life\, starting at WADA\, and going on to study at Manchester Metropolitan University coming out with a First Class BA Hons in Drama. From that she has directed various projects\, including being asked to direct 3 Indian students in association with the British Council and has assisted with various projects including work at the Theatre Royal in Bath. Holly is trained in both ballet and tap and has been trained\, as well as performed\, in various theatre styles throughout her life.
