SUMMARY:Funke and the Two Tone Baby
DESCRIPTION:The Old Tannery\, Midnight Mango and Red Brick Building present \n  \nFunke and the Two Tone Baby\nWith special guest Davey Malone \n  \n*Advance ticket sales will stop at 4pm on Friday. More tickets will be available on the door.* \n  \nOne-man electro blues band \n  \nGo to any gig and you get the acoustic opener\, the big main band and the afterparty DJ. Fuse them together and you’re starting to get close to Funke and the Two Tone Baby. A one-man phenomenon that mixes folky singalong anthems with blistering blues riffs\, juxtaposed with fat bass\, big beats and sub kicks. A frenzied amalgamation of organic and electronic that defies all preconception. \nBorn from festivals and knocking on the door of 1000 shows\, F&TTTB has wowed audiences from Glastonbury to Sziget\, WOMAD to Boomtown and Alexandra Palace to a Bahraini Princes’ private studio. He has also secured support tours and shows with Skinny Lister\, Dutty Moonshine Big Band\, Comet is Coming\, Beans on Toast\, Hazel O’ Connor\, Ferocious Dog\, Hayseed Dixie\, Mark Chadwick (Levellers) and many more. \nA lo-fi peach with orchestral depth\, a DJ without decks and a blur to the eyes\, Funke generates huge sounds from seemingly nothing and sweeps up audiences in an awestruck wave of power\, energy and sweat. A truly unique act that needs to be seen to be believed. \n  \nFor a taster of Funke and the Two Tone Baby\, see here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gEHU0OeP1o \n  \nFriday 28th October \n7.30pm – 11.30pm \n  \nTickets \n£10 advance (plus booking fee) \n  \n18’s and over only \nPlease note\, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled

SUMMARY:Galactic Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Galactic Art Workshop\nWith Fay Vale \n  \nThis Galactic Art workshop begins with a short meditation\, followed by energy work to recognise energies coming in. After a lunch break\, Fay will guide you in tuning in to the planets and the universe to enable you to connect to cosmic beings. Fay will then lead a drawing session\, in which you will draw with the less dominate hand\, to see what comes through. \n  \nAbout Fay Vale: \nI call my work Galactic Art because it comes from other planets & dimensions \nIt all goes back to July 2007 when I\, along with a friend\, had a close encounter with a UFO. The experience has changed my life completely in a really positive and especially artistic way. My work began two weeks after the encounter and I have been drawing and channelling messages ever since. \nPrior to the experience\, I never had any desire to produce art\, and as a busy wife and mother it wasn’t even in my thoughts. I have also never received any training in this field\, so when it came into my life one morning\, I was completely surprised and quite shaken. I just woke up and had an overwhelming urge to take a paper and pencil and draw. \nI knew the art was coming through me rather than from me because it just flowed\, without conscious thought or interruption. What was particularly surprising was that I was using my left hand\, though I am right-handed\, so naturally it would have made more sense to use my dominant hand to write or draw. \nSince 2007 my work has developed as the connection has become stronger. I am always happy to share my experience with the others so please contact me with any questions\, or if you have a similar story you wish to share. \n  \n  \nCost \n£45 per person. All materials are provided. \nLimited spaces available \n  \nFor more info and to book \nContact Fay Vale at www.galactic-art.co.uk

SUMMARY:Activating Sacred Vortex Energies
DESCRIPTION:Activating Sacred Vortex Energies\nWith Drs. J.J. and Desiree Hurtak\n  \nAn afternoon of teaching\, meditation\, and music \n  \nwith Drs. J.J. and Desiree Hurtak\, authors of The Book of Knowledge: Keys of Enoch\, The Ten Light Picture Superscripts\, and The Overself Awakening. \nFrom the Great Pyramid to Stonehenge and Glastonbury\, we begin to understand how the sacred grid points\, as cosmological maps on the planet\, reveal the missing links to a higher evolution. The Sacred Temples\, within the ancient sites\, are morphogenetic portals for higher consciousness linkage to both extraterrestrial and Higher Dimensional beings. From the ancient stupas of India to the underground structures of Mexico\, we can use these sacred spaces to become initiated to reach inner and outer realms of heavenly ascension. With music by Darren Curtis of Sacred Resonance. \n  \nWednesday 5th October \n1.30pm – 4.30pm \n  \nTickets \n£12 advance \n£15 on the door \n  \nFor more info and to book \nEmail: affsuk@affseurope.org \nOr Call/Text: 07765 887416 \n

SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner: Immersive Experience
DESCRIPTION:The Rime of the Ancient Mariner\nImmersive Experience\n  \n*SOLD OUT*\n  \nSamuel Taylor Coleridge’s epic poem in a spectacular 3-D Surround Sound production by Steve Marshall\, voiced by Shaun Prendergast \n  \nColeridge’s epic poem bursts into new life with a brand new surround sound production by Steve Marshall. This ultra-immersive experience places the listener onboard the Mariner’s creaking ship\, surrounded by the ocean and elements. From all around\, and above\, come the eery sounds of ghosts\, angels\, zombies\, St. Elmo’s Fire – and the doomed albatross. \nThe Ancient Mariner is voiced by well-known actor and writer Shaun Prendergast\, whose Geordie accent brings a gritty authenticity to this tragic tale. \nSteve Marshall was a film composer for many years\, working for a time in the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. In 2018 he thrilled Red Brick audiences with his surround sound piece Bilocation – so popular it was presented twice. Steve is the author of several books\, including the acclaimed Exploring Avebury: The Essential Guide. \n  \nFriday 30th September \n7.30pm\, doors \n8pm start \n  \nTickets \n£5 advance (plus booking fee) \n£7 on the door \n  \nMore info: www.stevemars.org \n  \nPlease note\, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled

SUMMARY:Friday Night Jazz & Blues: Mingus Moves + ZZ Birmingham Band
DESCRIPTION:Friday Night Jazz & Blues\nMingus Moves + ZZ Birmingham Band\n  \nA celebratory evening of live Jazz and Blues \n  \nMingus Moves \nExpect fantastic tunes from the great Charles Mingus – such as Better Get It in Your Soul and Fables of Faubus from the 1950s\, or Duke Ellington’s Sound of Love and Remember Rockefeller at Attica from the 1970s – all specially arranged for small group. You’ll find groove\, hard bop\, collective improvisation\, blues and church influences to name but five elements in his masterful compositions. Mingus’s music is here presented in the firm belief that it should be heard more often and enjoyed more widely. \nIn Mingus Moves for this special gig are Duncan Anselm (alto sax)\, Richard Jenkins (piano) and Luke Belcher (bass)\, plus special guest Will Rees-Jones (tenor sax). \nAlto player Duncan Anselm has gigged extensively around the South West since the 1980s. Particular highlights include several appearances at Swanage Jazz Festival\, gigs with Harry Beckett and Nigel Price\, and broadcasts on Radio 2 (‘Jazz Parade’ introduced by Charles Fox) and HTV (‘At the Albert’ introduced by Miles Kington). Duncan’s two CDs on the Bopcentric Music label feature fantastic quintets of leading London musicians Nat Steele (vibes)\, Nick Tomalin (piano)\, Dominic Howles (bass)\, Matt Home (drums)\, Dave Warren (guitar) and Matt Fishwick (drums). \n  \nZZ Birmingham Band \nWhat ZZ Birmingham doesn’t know about the blues wouldn’t fill a postcard home from Birmingham\, Alabama. Check out his long running Blues Cruise radio show on Glastonbury FM. You will be very well informed\, yes\, but also delightfully entertained. A superb showman and story-teller\, these are the hallmarks of his stage show\, too. \nThe core band is five-piece: sax\, fiddle\, drums and bass\, with ZZ fronting on guitar/vocals and occasional harmonica. On live gigs he has the habit of adding trumpet and cello to create horn and string sections. \nRefreshingly absent are lead guitar solos\, overdone to the point of cliche in too many line ups. When the band is in full cry\, ZZ looks to his horns and strings for the fills and thrills. He then subverts expectation by resting them to deliver a stripped down master-class on Hoochie Coochie Man. \nThis is a deserving fixture of the band’s core set\, as is the rousing and anthemic Boots\, ZZ’s own composition – although he credits Bob Dylan among others as having a hand in its creation. Expect other originals as well as first rate covers. \nLadies and gentlemen\, put on your Hi Heel Sneakers and dance the blues with the ZZ Birmingham Band… blues and beyond! \n  \n  \nFriday 9th September \n8pm – late \n  \nTickets \n£5 on the door \n  \n18’s and over only
