SUMMARY:Julie Lovelock Art Exhibition...Down To Earth
DESCRIPTION:Julie Lovelock will be bring her superb art exhibition to the RBB on the 16th of May 2018. \nJulie had a love of art\, particularly painting\, from a young age and showed promise when at school\, but found\, mainly due to a lack of confidence\, she veered toward a more academic direction. It was in 1993\, when a single mum\, that Julie discovered an Adult Education watercolour class which reignited her passion. She found watercolours to be a quicker and more practical medium when bringing up children and having little time. She would use nap times to paint\, teaching herself by experimentation\, and finding tremendous peace in doing so. \nJulie taught art at a local primary school for five years; she found art a great way for a child to learn to express and so boost their self-esteem. \nIn 2011\, Julie became self-employed giving her more time and freedom to paint\, her children all grown up. She discovered oils\, which quickly became her preferred medium. She says she finds them very healing by their being more natural. So\, she is primarily self-taught by experimentation. \nJulie usually enjoys painting nature\, either landscape or animals; she finds her love of the land and light\, and its creatures\, comes out in her work. Lately\, she has been branching out into different areas\, so trying her hand at celebrity portraits and more urban landscapes. She is also a Yoga teacher\, spiritual healer\, counsellor and clairvoyant.

SUMMARY:Leading in Transition\, and Staying the Course - EnhanceSE workshop
DESCRIPTION:In a fast-changing environment\, how do social enterprises develop flexibility and agility to respond to disruption\, or to be the disruptor? And how do Leaders develop survival/success strategies to strengthen their personal resilience? \nThis workshop will help participants: explore strategies to make your business agile and responsive; and discover tips and tactics for developing personal resilience to sustain you as a social enterprise leader. It will draw on social enterprise case studies\, best practise and the latest thinking about Leadership\, and provide some useful tools and tips for those in leadership roles. \nThis workshop is the fourth in the Better Leaders = Better Business! Series\, exploring Leadership in Social Enterprise. Book your place here. \nBetter Leaders = Better Business! \nHaving the necessary business skills to achieve long term sustainability is critical\, but how many of us possess the natural leadership to inspire our team and share a vision of success yet to happen? Commitment\, confidence\, clarity\, communication and an honest ability to understand ourselves are critical elements in a social enterprise leader’s toolkit. \nBetter Leaders = Better Business! workshops are designed to develop those leadership and management skills. The workshops provide a chance to explore your leadership style\, to share challenges and seek solutions to leading staff and volunteers through often choppy waters in a fast-changing environment. They provide a safe space to reflect on your own practise\, and the vision and direction of your organisation. Drawing on examples from social and commercial enterprise\, the workshops will help learners to build their own leadership toolkit\, and thus increase the potential social impact their organisations can create. \nAttendees registered through the Enhance Social Enterprise (Enhance SE) programme can also benefit from business mentoring\, picking up on some of the themes addressed in this and other forthcoming workshops. \nAudience: This workshop will appeal to staff within social enterprises who are\, or aspire to be\, in leadership roles\, whatever the size of the organisation. This may include team leaders\, project leaders\, CEO’s\, but not exclusively. \nCost: This workshop is FREE to social enterprises registered on the #EnhanceSE Social Enterprise ERDF Programme. Registering for the programme entitles eligible social enterprises to access up to 12 hours of support (through workshops and tailored mentoring). This workshop is part of a programme of support available to eligible social enterprises to enable them to grow their skills and expertise\, and in doing so\, grow their social business. All eligible attendees will need to complete a short online registration form before or on the day. Please check here to see if you are eligible https://www.heartofswgrowthhub.co.uk/gsp-apply/ and register for #EnhanceSE PRIOR to booking onto the event. When registering online for the #EnhanceSE Programme please ensure\, after the “Are you a social enterprise” question\, that you add in the notes: “Please refer straight through to Enhance Social Enterprise Support – Cosmic”. Thank you. \nNB. Registering for Enhance SE is different to booking for this workshop – you also need to hit the Register button to register for this workshop!

SUMMARY:The Andy Quick Band
DESCRIPTION:My first time at Bocabar & the Red Brick Building in Glastonbury – a buzzing venue deep in the heart of a great and unique British town. There’s hearts and minds to be won here\, and new friends to be made. Yes we will give the good people a great and unique show. Yes we will send some major\, soul deep\, waves of love and euphoria screaming across the sky. And yes we will climb the tor and take loads of nice pictures too. \nSHOW DETAILS TO FOLLOW…. \nBiography by Music Muso \n“A soul punch of indie rock n roll and pulsing electro blues…Exceptional pedigree! 10/10” – IRELAND’S UNSIGNED & INDEPENDENT \nFormed in Sept 2016 in a living room in Devon The Andy Quick Band hit the ground running with a highly original debut Album ‘The Way Things Are’ recorded at the infamous Middle Farm Studio and packed with big riffs and playful lyricism “…soulful\, funky\, and bursting with confidence…”\n– THE DAILY JAM \nThe bands first single ‘Liberation’ a ”throbbing\, euphoric masterpiece” impressed Songwriting\nMagazine who crowned it song of the day back in January. Cue a 14 date tour in the Spring where the band hit form landing them slots at some of the best UK festivals of the\nsummer including Glastonbury festival\, NASS and main stage at Leopalooza. \nAndy is joined by long time collaborator Josie Boucharde on bass\, mesmerising synth meister\nMartin Jenkins and laid back funkenstein Jackal Rosewarne-Hebb on drums along with a\nnumber of superstar guests! \nMusically they are impossible to pin down. Andy is a multifaceted songwriter and as with Land\nOf The Giants this new live show has evolved into a fascinating mash up of beats and styles.\n“This band is tight and the hype is growing” Andy has a unique voice and a knack for a catchy\nchorus. Their latest online single releases ‘5 less’ and the anthemic ‘sugar’ suggest 2018 will\nbe another banger. \nwww.andyquickmusic.com \n“…one of the finest front men we can boast in the South West….some of the best music we’ve heard this year. Watch out!” – JAMES SANTER BBC Introducing \nfor all press enquiries email andyquickmusic@gmail.com or call +44 7779 980436 \n“Land Of The Giants front man Andy Quick is stepping out solo and making some intense waves on the scene with his low\, sensuous voice” – Matador Network \n“An exquisite blend of Instruments coupled with fantastic song writing and truly enveloping lyrics” – Black Sail Records \n“You can hear the passion in every single song.
