SUMMARY:Immortal Onion x Michal Jan
DESCRIPTION:The Red Hot Jazz Club presents\nImmortal Onion x Michal Jan\n  \nN.B. Advance ticket sales have now stopped. Entry tickets will be available to purchase on the door from 7.30pm tonight. \n  \nJazz Prog Polish Trio\, with Saxophonist Michał Jan Ciesielski \nImmortal Onion are an instrumental band from Gdańsk\, Poland. This tour will also see them performing with saxophonist Michał Jan Ciesielski. \nImmortal Onion have already built a strong position as one of the most interesting\, new jazz projects from Poland. After two well received albums (“Ocelot of Salvation” in 2017 and “XD [Experience Design]” in 2020\, U Know Me Records)\, they had the pleasure of presenting the new release called “Screens” recorded at the initiative of the saxophonist Michał Jan Ciesielski. \nThe trio performed its original material at many venues and festivals in 16 countries around Europe. \nThe inspiration for the band formation were\, to name just a few\, Esbjörn Svensson\, Hiromi Uehara and Tigran Hamasyan\, In terms of genre\, Immortal Onion offers a bold combination of many seemingly remote styles – jazz\, film music\, minimalism as well as fusion\, electronic music and even progressive metal. \nThe unique sound of the group originates from the stylistic variety\, and skilful combination of rhythmically complex\, energetic riffs with minimalistic\, trans beats and lyrical theme. \n  \nSaturday 25th May \nDoors: 7.30pm \nStart: 8pm \n  \nTickets \nEntry: £12 advance \nLentil & Carrot Falafel\, Coleslaw & Sauté Potato*: £9.50 (advance booking only) \nPork Croquette\, Coleslaw & Sauté Potato*: £9.50 (advance booking only) \n*For special dietary requirements\, please contact The Old Tannery restaurant on theoldtanneryglastonbury@outlook.com or 01458 440558. \nPlease note food options are subject to change. \n  \nFor more information about this event\, please contact theredhotjazzclub@gmail.com \n  \n18’s and over only \nPlease note\, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled

SUMMARY:The Bluetones
DESCRIPTION:The Pad Presents \nThe Bluetones (Acoustic)\n+ Enjoyable Listens\n  \nThe Bluetones frontman Mark Morriss and his partner in crime Adam Devlin are taking their ‘Bluetones Acoustic’ show back out on the road in spring ’24 and will be making a ‘Slight Return’ to the Red Brick Building. \nThe band\, formed in 1993\, had an impressive run of hit singles throughout the late 90’s/early 00’s\, including ’Bluetonic’\, ‘Slight Return’\, ‘Marblehead Johnson’\, ‘Solomon Bites The Worm’\, ‘If’ and ‘Keep the Fires Burning’. They scored thirteen Top 40 singles and three Top 10 albums in the UK charts before a hiatus in 2010. Returning in 2015 with a run of sell out shows\, the band continue to tour to packed houses up and down the UK. This is a unique chance to hear the classics stripped back with shows at more intimate venues the band don’t usually play. \nSpecial guest support comes from Enjoyable Listens. \n  \nSunday 26th May \n7pm – late \n  \nTickets \n£20 advance \n  \n18’s and over only \nPlease note\, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled

SUMMARY:'FleeceFest' Free Mini Festival
DESCRIPTION:‘FleeceFest’ Free Mini Festival\n  \nCome join us for an afternoon of live music\, craft\, art\, food and drink and find out something new about the history of Glastonbury. \n  \nA brand new\, free mini festival aimed at young people is coming to the Red Brick Building in September! It promises a day full of creativity\, live music and local food. And\, what’s more\, the whole event has been organised by a fantastic team of young people. \nThe festival is part of a national project called New Wave\, which encourages young people to get involved in heritage-related activities. It coincides with the national Heritage Open Days festival organised each year\, which celebrates the rich history and heritage of communities across the UK. \nFleeceFest is a one-day mini festival with live music\, craft\, food\, and mural painting. It’s completely free to attend and\, while it’s aimed at young people\, all ages are welcome and there will be plenty for everyone to do. \nOne of the highlights will be painting a mural that celebrates and encapsulates the history of the Red Brick Building’s industrial past as a former sheepskin factory. The mural was sketched out in July by a group of young people\, helped by local artist Jon Minshull. The design uses images from Morlands Magazines as well as quotes from some of the stories of people who worked in the factories\, to tell the story of change at the Red Brick Building site. You’ll see the iconic Morlands gates\, sheep\, shoes\, chimneys and lots of people working busily. The mural will be painted in full colour during FleeceFest\, so do come along and join in if you like to get creative! \nYou’ll notice that there’s something sheepy about this event too\, with the chance to get creative with sheepskin crafts led by local textile expert Liana. Plus\, enjoy live music from local musicians\, including the premiere of new songs inspired by the stories of workers from the historic Morlands and Baily’s factories. \nThe name FleeceFest is a nod to the Red Brick Building’s past as part of the Morlands sheepskin factory\, a key player in Glastonbury’s economic and social history during the 20th century. The event will honour this heritage\, particularly the craftsmanship and memories of those who worked in the sheepskin industry. \nThis will be a relaxed afternoon for anyone who is inquisitive\, creative or who would just like to discover a new place in the community. Our fantastic team of young people have been working hard to create and organise this mini festival\, and we can’t wait to see it in action. Pop along\, bring a mate\, and enjoy a creative day for all the family! \n  \nThis event is being held in our Community Garden. All are welcome. \n  \nSaturday 14th September \n11am – 4pm \nFREE ENTRY \n  \nTickets: Booking is not compulsory\, but it helps us to estimate how many people will be attending. Please book a free ticket (below) if you can\, to help give us an idea of numbers. \n

SUMMARY:John Otway
DESCRIPTION:John Otway\nSolo Show \n  \n— \nAdvance ticket sales have now stopped. Additional tickets will be available on the door from 8pm. \n— \n  \nA national treasure\, celebrating his 5\,000th gig! \n  \nRock veteran John Otway is an English singer-songwriter who has built a sizeable cult audience through extensive touring\, a surreal sense of humour and a self-deprecating underdog persona. \nOtway dubbed himself “rock’n’roll’s greatest failure” after many unsuccessful attempts to produce a second hit single to follow his 1977 classic ‘(Cor Baby\, That’s) Really Free’ with Wild Willy Barrett. \nHowever\, a mere quarter century later\, he was back on Top of The Pops with the wonderful disco pastiche\, ‘Bunsen Burner’ and back in the charts as a birthday present from his adoring and patient fans. \nExpect madcap mayhem and some scintillating stunts from a man old enough to know better … and also to be surprised at just what a showman and musician really lies underneath the tomfoolery. \n  \n“A brilliant ability to inspire”  – THE GUARDIAN \n“Brilliant observationally … part of me just wants to stand up and applaud”  – STEVE LAMACQ \n“The audience were in fits of hysteria”  – SALISBURY JOURNAL \n  \nN.B.
