SUMMARY:Friday Night Jazz: The Duncan Anselm Quintet
DESCRIPTION:The Red Hot Jazz Club presents\nThe Duncan Anselm Quintet\n  \nPlaying the music of Charles Mingus \n  \n*N.B. Advance ticket sales will stop on Thursday evening. A limited number of entry-only tickets will be available to purchase on the door on Friday evening.* \n  \nThe Red Hot Jazz Club are excited to welcome The Duncan Anslem Quintet to Glastonbury\, playing all the best and well-known tunes by the legendary Charles Mingus. \n  \nCharles Mingus Jr. was an American jazz upright bassist\, pianist\, composer\, bandleader\, and author. A major proponent of collective improvisation\, he is considered to be one of the greatest jazz musicians and composers in history. \nWith a career spanning three decades\, he collaborated with other jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong\, Duke Ellington\, Charlie Parker\, Dizzy Gillespie\, and Herbie Hancock. \nHis compositions retain the hot and soulful feel of hard bop\, drawing heavily from black gospel music and blues\, while sometimes containing elements of free jazz and classical music. He once cited Duke Ellington and the church as his main influences. \n  \nDuncan Anselm on Alto-sax is a very familiar face in the West and has performed many times in various guises. Joining him tonight\, we are thrilled to have Sam Crockatt\, a well-known name on the Bristol and London Jazz Scene playing Tenor-sax. They will be supported by amazing local players Richard Jenkins on Piano\, Luke Belcher on Bass and Jon Clark on drums. \nTonight we will be enjoying some excellent versions of the very best Mingus tunes\, including the smooth ‘Goodbye Pork Pie Hat‘\, the exultant ‘Better Git It in Your Soul‘ and the up-beat ‘The Jumpin’ Blues‘. \nPlus\, there’s the option to enjoy a delicious dinner from The Old Tannery while you watch the show. \nCome down to the Jazz Club\, pre-order some Jazz supper from The Old Tannery and join us for a sumptuous night of Mingus moves. \n  \nFeaturing: \nDuncan Anselm – Alto Sax \nSam Crockatt – Tenor Sax \nRichard Jenkins – Piano \nLuke Belcher – Bass \nJohn Clark – Drums \n  \nFriday 26th May \nDoors: 7.30pm \nStart: 8pm \n  \nTickets \nEntry: £10 advance (£12 on the door) \nVegetable Curry with Rice*: £9.50 (advance booking only) \nChicken Curry with Rice*: £9.50 (advance booking only) \n*For special dietary requirements\, please contact The Old Tannery restaurant on theoldtanneryglastonbury@outlook.com or 01458 440558. \nPlease note food options are subject to change. \n  \nFor more information about this event\, please contact theredhotjazzclub@gmail.com \n  \n18’s and over only \nPlease note\, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled

SUMMARY:The Undercover Hippy
DESCRIPTION:Midnight Mango\, Red Brick Building and The Old Tannery present \n  \nThe Undercover Hippy\nPlus Support from State of Satta\n  \n*N.B. Advance ticket sales will stop at 4pm on Saturday. Additional tickets will be available to purchase on the door from 8pm on Saturday.* \n  \nIntelligent\, provocative lyrics with dangerously catchy hooks and a feel good groove! \n  \nThe Undercover Hippy and his full band will be back in Glastonbury as part of their 2023 Spring Tour. \n  \nDrum and Bass MC turned singer-songwriter Billy Rowan\, aka The Undercover Hippy\, is definitely not your average singer-songwriter. Described by BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson as being “like the love-child of Steel Pulse\, Kate Tempest and The Sleaford Mods”\, his music brings together powerful messages\, infectious reggae rhythms\, and the lyrical delivery of a skilled MC. Think Natty meets Eminem…on a protest march…at the Edinburgh Fringe.\n \n  \nRenowned for the electric atmosphere of their live shows\, Billy and his band have performed at some of the UK’s best festivals\, including Glastonbury\, Boomtown Fair\, Shambala\, Green Man\, The Secret Garden Party\, Ireland’s Electric Picnic\, and many more.\n \n  \nOne of Billy’s biggest strengths is the way he manages to pack his songs full of political and social commentary\, whilst at the same time remaining playful and uplifting.\n \n  \nSupport: State of Satta are a 7-piece Reggae band based in Leeds. Having formed in the ashes of 2020\, the band have quickly established a name for themselves with their energetic stage show\, rambunctious bass lines and beautifully crafted multi-lingual melodies. Inspired by the sounds of Jamaican and Cuban music\, State of Satta are carrying on the lineage of bands like Gentleman’s Dub Club\, UB40 and Fat Freddy’s Drop amongst many other dub influences. \n  \n  \nSaturday 15th April \n8pm – late \n  \nTickets \n£16.50 advance (plus booking fee) \n  \n18’s and over only \nPlease note\, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled

SUMMARY:Intuitive Painting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Intuitive Painting Workshop\nCreate Vulva Art\n  \nTreat yourself to the ultimate self-care for Valentines by creating your own yoni art! \n  \n2-Day Workshop: Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th February \n10am – 4pm \n  \nLearn step-by-step techniques with acrylic paints\, including how to layer and create depth and movement\, with Visionary Womb Artist; Sinead Holly Woodnutt. \n  \nFrom the artist: \nWe will let go of expectations\, be brave with colour and bring joy into throwing paint around the canvas! \nThis is the exact way that I create my own paintings\, its an intuitive way to paint with no fixed beginning or end vision. I shall show you how to find your images within the painting\, and find your own Vulva shapes. \nDuring this two day workshop\, we will not be working from life. You are welcome to bring in your own yoni images if you have them. I will have a great book of vulva drawings on hand for inspiration\, or you can work from the imagination by tapping into the cosmic portal of all creation (which I did a lot with my Viva La Vulva painting series). \nYou shall paint over three canvases the first day\, pure joyful and free expression with colour and mark making! This way you have room to breathe on the canvases by working on three at once\, rather than one fixed one. I will show you the magic rubber tools I use to create interesting patterns and shapes in the early layers of the painting. You can write messages\, embody the canvas with poetry or collage an image onto the canvas before painting. \nThe second day you will choose one canvas to bring to completion. I will be there to guide you and help you find your images\, and share techniques to keep the painting loose but also with a finished feel. \nWe will be in the beautiful\, light Studio space at the Red Brick Building\, Glastonbury. \nThis Vulva painting can be your devotion to yourself and the beauty and power you embody. It can be a devotion to the divine creatrix\, creator of all. \nYou can expect journaling and painting in a very supportive environment. \nAt the end\, you will go home with three canvases: one brought to completion and two to finish at home if you wish. \nAll levels of painting welcome and all people welcome. \nPlease find examples of my work at www.sineadhollywoodnutt.com or Instagram @creativewombheart \nI cannot wait see all your Vulva creations! \n  \n18’s and over only. \n  \nPrice \n£120 total for 2-day workshop \n  \nTo Book \nTo book\, please see here: www.vulvaart.eventbrite.com \n  \nFor More Info \nVisit:  www.sineadhollywoodnutt.com \nOr email: sineadhollypainting@gmail.com
