Mark will have you up dancing! \n  \nOne of the UK’s most successful songwriters\, Mark Chadwick has co-written 20 chart singles and 6 Top 40 albums (including a Number 1) as part of the Levellers\, the band he has fronted for over 25 years. \nStill going strong\, the Levellers are festival favourites and have cemented their cherished status with headline performances at Glastonbury\, Isle Of Wight\, Cambridge Folk Festival\, Bestival and Boomtown\, and many European and UK events. In 2003 they successfully created their own annual Beautiful Days Festival\, which takes place in August at Escot Park in Devon. \nMark has released two solo albums: ‘All the Pieces’ and ‘Moment’\, and his upfront and personal solo performance will see him play a mixture of material from these albums as well as Levellers classics. Movement is conscious\, intuitive and spontaneous as you allow the vibrations of the sound to resonate in whichever way feels right for you. Tickets will be available to purchase on the door from 7.30pm tonight. \n  \nClassic 1930’s & 40’s tunes from The Shepton Mallet Big Band \n  \nAfter their amazing performance at last year’s Glastonbury Extravaganza\, The Red Hot Jazz Club are thrilled to host The Shepton Mallet Big Band for our 80th Anniversary VE Day Celebrations. \nCome dressed to celebrate and join in with the big band\, singing and dancing to all those popular tunes that bring back all those memories of those momentous events in the 1930s and 40’s. \nIf you’d like to book a table and eat\, we are offering a special VE Day meal of  Beef or Vegetable Hotpot with Dumpling and Mash which can be ordered below with your tickets. \n  \nThe Shepton Mallet Big Band was established more than 30 years ago\, when what started as a local saxophone jazz quartet specialising in music from the 30s\, 40s and 50s\, grew into a Big Band.  \nThe band today is a vibrant group of over 20 enthusiastic musicians in a standard line-up of saxophones\, trumpets and trombones\, with guitar\, bass\, drums\, keyboard and vocalists.  Our repertoire includes music from the golden big band era of the 1940s\, including Glenn Miller\, Count Basie\, Louis\, Ella and Sinatra and also contemporary funk and soul style music such as pieces by Herbie Hancock\, Stevie Wonder\, and Imelda May. The members are keen to bring live instrumental and vocal music of all kinds to everyone. Performances at recent events include: the Royal Bath & West Show for the last few years\, Shepton Mallet Collett Park Day\, Haynes Motor Museum and the Glastonbury Extravaganza supporting headliners Keane. \nThis year sees the 80th anniversary of VE day in May and the band has put together a set of authentic 1930s and 1940s music to commemorate this important milestone. \n  \n  \nFriday 9th May \nDoors: 7.30pm \nStart: 8pm \n  \nTickets \nEntry: £15 \nBeef Hotpot with Dumpling and Mash*: £9.50 (Advance booking only.
