Your coach has broken down and so you find yourself an unexpected guest at Talbot Manor\, where the family members are gathering for a sombre occasion – the reading of a will. \nThe majestic splendour of Talbot Manor has played host to many distinguished guests over the centuries. All profits will go to Cancer Research UK. \n  \nIn 1949 a struggling American writer\, Helene Hanff\, hoping to indulge her love of beautiful books of literature\, begins a correspondence with a firm of British antiquarian booksellers\, and in particular\, one Mr Frank Doel. This ultra-immersive experience places the listener onboard the Mariner’s creaking ship\, surrounded by the ocean and elements. From all around\, and above\, come the eery sounds of ghosts\, angels\, zombies\, St. Elmo’s Fire – and the doomed albatross. \nThe Ancient Mariner is voiced by well-known actor and writer Shaun Prendergast\, whose Geordie accent brings a gritty authenticity to this tragic tale. \nSteve Marshall was a film composer for many years\, working for a time in the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Beth studied for both her degrees at The University of Winchester specialising in physical theatre. For a number of years Beth has been teaching for local groups and in local primary schools in the Wells and Glastonbury area. \nHolly Flower: BA(hons) Drama \nHolly has taken an interest in drama throughout her life\, starting at WADA\, and going on to study at Manchester Metropolitan University coming out with a First Class BA Hons in Drama. From that she has directed various projects\, including being asked to direct 3 Indian students in association with the British Council and has assisted with various projects including work at the Theatre Royal in Bath. Holly is trained in both ballet and tap and has been trained\, as well as performed\, in various theatre styles throughout her life.
