This year is the Somerset Art Weeks Festival\, where collaborative exhibitions and group shows spring up across the region. DESCRIPTION:Hands On! Free Half-Term Creative Workshop for Kids:\nCreative Textiles and Sewing\nWith Lucy Litchfield \n  \nSpaces are limited to 12 children. Please book a free ticket below to register your child’s attendance.  \nWhen booking your ticket(s)\, please put the name(s) of your child(ren) in the Order Note box. \n  \nFancy decorating a pair of jeans\, T-shirt or Jacket? Perhaps you want to jazz up a cushion or bag? \nLucy will take you through step-by-step instructions\, showing you how to create your own design to applique (join or attach) to either a garment\, bag or cushion cover. You will learn how to either machine and / or hand stitch your design to your chosen surface. \nBring an item with you to decorate\, and any fabric scraps you like the look of! If you can’t\, don’t worry\, as we will have lots of fabric scraps at the workshop. There will also be some plain calico bags to applique if you haven’t got something. \n  \nSuitable for children aged 10 and over. \n  \nAbout Lucy: Lucy Neve has a degree in Fashion and PGCE in Secondary Art. She currently works in various primary and Secondary schools around Somerset\, alongside her own independent creative workshops in halls and art studios. DESCRIPTION:Artists Exhibition & Open Studios\n  \nExhibition runs from 13th – 28th September 2025\, 10am – 4pm \nOpen Studios available on Mondays – Saturdays\, 10am – 4pm \n  \nThis exhibition promises to be an inspiring and eclectic mix of paintings\, mixed-media\, ceramics and textiles\, all created by our talented resident artisans. \nFeaturing the works of: Andrew Gowland\, Antony Van Raalte\, Avalon Cloaks\, JYS\, Keelie Hamer\, Lilian May\, Mia Taylor\, and Sarah Slaughter. \nWork will be displayed in our Reception area\, the communal areas of the top floor\, and the Artisan Studio. \nDuring the exhibition\, on Mondays – Saturdays from 10am – 4pm\, the artisans will also be hosting an ‘Open Studios’ in the Artisan Studio. This will be an opportunity to meet some of the artists in person\, and take a look inside their beautiful Artisan Studio where many of the artworks are created. \n  \nFree entry \n
