SUMMARY:Film Screening: 'Make It A Fair COP\, Glasgow' + Q&A
DESCRIPTION:One Minute To Midnight Movies presents\n‘Make It A Fair COP\, Glasgow’\n  \nFilm screening\, followed by Q&A with producers John Potter and Phil Shepherd \nA view from the streets at the COP 26 climate conference\, to which Jeff Bezos was invited but not Greta Thunberg. \n  \n“The two of us took the train to Glasgow to find out more about what might be being done to avoid a complete climate and environmental catastrophe. We didn’t have passes or any kind of access to the main conference\, but we wanted to find out what people were thinking and saying… While world leaders gathered behind the miles of perimeter fences\, we walked the streets looking for other more inclusive conferences. The conferences of the communities and peoples. Going to lots of different meetings in different venues all over Glasgow\, we found that lots of the events were organised by younger people. People with real knowledge of the situation; scientists\, economists\, biologists\, all sorts of people with real expertise. It gave us hope that the changes we need are possible.” \n  \nThis 33 minute film tells the story of COP 26 from the viewpoint of two non-experts without official passes\, who went to Glasgow to the main conference to bear witness to what should have been a crucial global event. \nProducers John Potter and Phil Shepherd showcase the film\, together with another new environmental crisis related short film\, before discussing the implications of these stories with audience members during a live Q&A. \n  \nFriday 22nd April \n7.30pm\, Doors \n8pm\, Screening \n  \nTickets \n£8 advance \n£5 concession (seniors/unwaged) \n£10 on the door \n  \nPlease note\, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled
